🧑‍💻 Who are we?

GGA Designs is the independent software studio of Grant Ardill, based in Sydney, Australia. It's one person, a lot of coffee, and a stubborn belief that software should be useful, fun and made with care. No venture capital, no dark patterns, and no "we've updated our terms" emails at 3 am. 😄

Here's what's cooking in the lab 🧪:

  • 🐑 DesktopAnimals: pixel-art animals that wander, tumble and nap across your Windows desktop. The free demo (Sheep, Ram, Cow and Pig) is out now. Yes, the sheep will *** on your windows. No, we can't stop them.
  • 🖥️ NullaOS: our operating system project. Big ambitions, lots of low-level adventures.
  • 📬 MeetrMail: email done our way.
  • 🛬 RateMyLanding: for the pilots among us. Butter or brick? 🧈🧱

💬 What's this forum for?

  • ❓ Asking questions: stuck? Confused? Suspect the sheep are plotting something? Ask away.
  • 🐛 Reporting bugs: the more detail, the faster we squash them (screenshots and steps to reproduce are pure gold 🏆).
  • 💡 Sharing ideas: feature requests, new animal suggestions, wild dreams. We read them all.
  • 🗣️ Chatting: show off your desktop zoo, share what you're working on, or just say hi in General.

Each project has its own category, so pop your post in the right one and it'll find the right eyes. 👀

📜 The house rules (the short version)

  1. 🤝 Be kind. Disagree with ideas, not people. Everyone was a beginner once.
  2. 🚫 No harassment, hate speech, threats or slurs. Zero tolerance.
  3. 📢 No spam or advertising. Our moderation queue has a very low tolerance for "crypto opportunities". 🪙🙅
  4. 🔞 Keep it clean and legal, and don't share anyone's private info.
  5. 🗂️ Stay on topic and search before posting; your question may already have an answer!
  6. 👤 One account per person. No sock puppets. 🧦

🛡️ How moderation works

It's a one-person show, so we've hired some robot helpers 🤖:

  • ✉️ You'll confirm your email before you can post.
  • 🆕 New members' first few posts are checked before they go public. Don't worry if yours doesn't appear straight away; it's not you, it's the queue!
  • 🙊 Naughty words get automatically ****'d out, in English and dozens of other languages. We see you. 😏
  • 🚩 See something that breaks the rules? Hit Report under the post. If several members flag the same post, it's hidden until a human takes a look.
  • ⚖️ Breaking the rules can mean posts being removed, some read-only "time out" ⏳, or a ban for repeat or serious offences. Spammers get the express lane straight out. 🚪
